Ask Bloomz: Help Inside the App, Now for Parents Too

Ask Bloomz is the help chat inside the Bloomz app. Teachers and school admins have it without anyone switching it on, and parents can now use it too, for questions about their own account, their notifications and their child’s classes.

Most questions a school office gets about an app are not hard. “Why am I not getting notifications from Room 12?” “Are my texts turned on?” “My son’s new class isn’t showing up.” Each one takes a staff member five minutes to answer, and the parent often waits a day for those five minutes. Ask Bloomz answers in the app, at the moment the parent is stuck.

Where parents find it

A parent opens Ask Bloomz from the Help menu, from a child’s profile, from a class, or from the home feed. Starting from a child or a class matters: the assistant already knows which child or class the question is about, so the parent does not have to explain it.

What a parent can ask about:

The parent confirms every change

When the fix is a change to the account, such as turning a class’s notifications back on, Ask Bloomz suggests it and waits. Nothing changes until the parent confirms it.

It also stays inside the parent’s own information. A parent can ask about their own children and their own classes. They cannot ask about another family, see who else was invited to a class, or change anything a teacher or admin controls. Those requests are refused, and the parent is offered a person at Bloomz Support.

Students do not have Ask Bloomz.

For teachers and admins

Teachers and school admins find Ask Bloomz under the Help menu on phones and as a chat button on the web. It answers questions about their classes, invitations, roster sync status and whether a post was delivered, using the same rule as the app: a teacher sees what they can already see in Bloomz, and nothing more.

When the answer is not enough, every reply has a “Did that answer your question?” prompt. Choosing No offers a way to talk to a person on the Bloomz support team.

On by default, and the school decides

Ask Bloomz is on for schools unless a school or district admin turns it off. The switch is in Settings, and an admin who turned it off can turn it back on.

Parents can use it in the classes and schools where it is on.

Why help belongs inside the app

A help article on a website is useful when someone goes looking for it. Most people do not. They get stuck in the app, try twice, and then text the teacher. An assistant inside the app catches the question where it starts, already knows which account and which class it is about, and can make the fix with the person’s say-so. The teacher’s evening stays free for the questions only a teacher can answer.

If you already use Bloomz, Ask Bloomz is in the Help menu today. To see it with your own school’s setup, book a demo or read more about Bloomz AI.
