Let’s face it.  Humans love information.  It helps us make informed decisions, learn new things, get to know others as well as ourselves, and SO much more.  In our current world, information goes beyond how we function in our daily lives.  We crave it.  In the age of cell phones, tablets and instant gratification, information is being shared at lightning speed.

At Bloomz, we know information is important.  And when it comes to parents and their children- information becomes vital.  Working closely with the parents in my classroom, we discovered different ways parents wanted to receive updates and information:

1. Notifications on their phone
2. Emails
3. A daily digests/summaries

In these three ways, teachers can easily and actively engage their parent community, getting them the information they want/need.  Parents like to receive information in different ways, and they can customize how they want to be notified of new happenings in their Bloomz communities.

For parents that like to be notified in real time of new posts/events-

Download the Bloomz app from your app store, so you can receive pop up notifications directly on your phone. (This is how I prefer to get updates)

For parents who like to receive an email notification each time something happens on Bloomz-

Go to settings in your Bloomz account, and select Email Settings.  Make sure the top 3 toggles are green.  Turn off the next 4 that have to do with “email digest”.  If you don’t want to receive pop up notifications, you will need to go to your phone settings, and under notifications turn off the Bloomz app.

For parents that don’t want to be bothered throughout the day, and only want to receive one communication about everything that happened that day-

Go to settings in your Bloomz account, and select Email Settings.  Make sure the top 3 toggles are off.  Leave the next 4 that have to do with “email digest” on and green.

At the bottom, you will see two more toggles-

• News & Updates
