Open an evaluation for a division, choose the criteria and name the evaluators. Soccer starts with dribbling, passing, shooting, defending and effort, each scored 1 to 5, and other sports start with skill, effort and teamwork. You can add your own. A player's rating is the average of every score across evaluators and criteria. A player nobody scored is treated as average, so they are neither helped nor hurt.
A parent can ask that their child play with a friend, searching by first name only and seeing the other child as a first name and last initial. A coach can mark their own child. The director can lock a player to a team. By default a play-with request is honoured when it is mutual, and you can choose to honour one-way requests as well.
The builder keeps team sizes within one player of each other, honours locks first, then coach's children, then siblings, then mutual requests, then balances the average rating across teams. Each placement says why it was made. Anything it could not honour, such as a team that was already full, is listed with the cause instead of being dropped quietly.
Balanced by tryout rating, with siblings, carpools and coach's children kept together.
Move or swap players, name the teams and choose head coaches. Applying creates the teams, adds the players and their parents, and gives each family one notice about their team. Run it again and nothing is created twice. Apply asks you to confirm if any player is still without a team.
Division administrators see everything. An evaluator sees only the scores they gave. Parents and club members never see scores or ratings.
No. Without evaluations the builder still balances sizes and honours requests. With them it also balances ability.
Requests are play-with, coach's child and director locks. Coaches are assigned by the director.
Evaluations, scores, requests and drafts are deleted 400 days after the last activity on them.
