Tag each menu item with the components it provides: milk, fruit, vegetable, grain, meat or meat alternate. The check compares the components a meal lists with the USDA table for the age band and meal, and shows what is missing. It checks components, not serving sizes, and a menu with no tagged items is shown as unchecked rather than failing.
Teachers already log meals in the care log. Bloomz counts a meal once per child, per day, per meal, and only when the child was signed in. A bulk lunch entry for the room never counts an absent child. Meals left out are listed with the reason, so staff can fix them: not present, no meal type, a snack not marked morning or afternoon, a bottle entry or a duplicate.
A center admin sets each child's free, reduced-price or paid category. Families and room staff never see it, and every change is logged. The monthly export gives counts by day and meal for free, reduced, paid and category not set, with your site number. The daily meal count sheet lists each child signed in, with a mark under every meal counted. A child with no category is shown as not set, never guessed.
No. Bloomz records meals and exports the counts for your sponsor, or for a claims tool such as KidKare. Filing stays with you and your sponsor.
No. The menu check compares listed components with the USDA table. Your sponsor and your state decide what is reimbursable.
CACFP is a setting inside Meals & Menus, off by default. It needs Meals & Menus on, and Check-In on for the exports. Only a center admin can turn it on, and your onboarding specialist can set it up with you.
Infants (birth to 5 months, 6 to 11 months), ages 1 to 2, 3 to 5 and 6 to 12. Ages 13 to 18 are not in the table yet.
A bottle or breast milk entry carries no CACFP meal, and a snack must be marked morning or afternoon to count. Both appear on the entries-not-counted list.
The exports are plain tables a sponsor can read. We have not verified any sponsor's own import format, so ask your sponsor what they need.
