A director assigns each person a shift with a room, a role, a date and a start and end time, and copies last week to start the next one. A new shift is a draft that only admins see. Publishing makes the week visible to staff and tells each affected person once. If a published shift is moved, reassigned or removed, the people involved hear about it straight away. Staff see their own shifts in the app, and the shifts also appear in the phone calendar they already subscribe to.
For each room and hour, the check counts the staff scheduled against the children expected, using the same age-band ratio tables as the live ratio on your room board. Expected children come from your check-in history: a child counts in an hour if they were there on at least half of the last four same weekdays. Short hours are grouped into blocks that say the room, the day, the time, how many you are short and whether a floater is free. A new center sees the full enrolled count until there are a few weeks of check-ins.
A staff member marks their own shift as called out and the center's admins are told. The director names a cover: a floater, a teacher from another room or a sub who is staff here. If the cover does not already have the room and Substitutes is on for that room, Substitutes Lite gives them access for exactly the shift, and the access ends on its own. The ratio check shows the result at once. Afterward, a view of scheduled against actual clock-ins shows who was late, who left early and who never clocked in.
Not yet. A shift stays inside one day, so a night shift is entered as two. There is no overtime, pay or time-off request feature.
Not yet. Scheduled hours do not appear on the payroll timesheet. Approved clocked hours still export for Gusto or QuickBooks Payroll, and Bloomz does not run payroll.
From your own check-ins. A child counts in an hour if they were there on at least half of the last four same weekdays. A new center sees enrolled children until there is some history.
Center admins see everything. Staff see their own shifts. Parents and billing staff do not see the schedule.
